FantasPorto 09

The time is nigh! We're just but a few days away from the movie festival about fantastic cinema - Fantasporto.

Highlights for this year go straight to :

Tokyo Gore Police
- japanese comic gore movie

The Chaser
- don't eff with Korean movie industry

Takut 'Faces of Fear
- hey we can do Horror in Indonesia too. Seriously we can!

Hansel and Gretel - seriously, dont eff again with the Korean movie industry, else we pick up german horror stories turned pretty by Disney and we scare you to death

Der Todesking
- Death is unleashed, now in germanic. Great Expectations on this one

Pradolongo - ahora me quedo a penzar que este es el, probabelmiente, la mejor promeza de lo Cartaz, eso e que no se hablar, siquer Galero. Note to self about this one "Contains eventually shocking scenes". should be a hardball, but ill end up seeing it everyway.

It kicks off next monday with a day consecrated to K. Dick, sporting the awesome Blade Runner followed by the terrible The Island - not that i don't like MacGregor and Alba, but .. "C'moooon!" The Wrestler, Che, Adam Ressurected may be the main atractions but I'll probably skip'em all to catch a glimpse at the more obscure ones. Everything is rolling out to be another two weeks full of cinema.

Sad news was seeing just a while ago, that the 2010 edition of the Festival is dangerously threathened due to lack of funding. double shame because it will be, the 30th edition of it.

No funding for next year? what a shame... Korean films, lol, not really my thing. But I can imagine you liking that :)

I still remember when I went to Fantas to see the 3 Scream films - in one night! And it was the european premiere of Scream 3, it didnt even have subtitles! Oh,really nice atmosphere there. And after S3, they were showing BrainDead... I didn't stay for that one!

ow..nice marathon!!

i never ever saw brain dead...yet
really hoping that UCI or some Warner Bros movie theater that are sponsoring fantasPorto screen it on a retrospective.

Korean movie is a must.
I definitely recommend The Host. If you like King Kong, Godzilla and other big bad monster flicks you'll love the Host.
